A strong storm system will move into Texas today, bringing a couple of rounds of thunderstorms to the area.
The first batch of showers and storms is expected to move across parts of North Texas around late morning. That will move into East Texas for the afternoon. The second batch of storms will develop during the mid-afternoon northwest of DFW and move east. These storms will be capable of large hail, perhaps larger than golf balls, damaging wind gusts and even a tornado or two.
A chilly March pattern will dominate North Texas weather Friday through the weekend with temperatures well below normal. Highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s are expected. It’s possible some locations could experience lows near freezing, especially to the north and west of DFW.Windy and mild with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may become severe. High: 75. Wind: S 15-30 mph.: Evening storms ending before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, windy and turning much cooler. Low: 38.
