Locations impacted include Millersburg, Lykens, Elizabethville, Williamstown, Tower City, Urban, Fort Indiantown Gap, Penn National Race Course, Dehart Dam, Wiconisco, Gratz and Dalmatia. This includes Interstate 81 between mile markers 80 and 85, and from mile markers 92 to 96.
A severe thunderstorm warning is issued by the National Weather Service when either a severe thunderstorm is indicated by the WSR-88D radar or a spotter reports a thunderstorm producing hail one inch or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour. The National Weather Service advises that people in the affected area seek safe shelter immediately.
