Weather Alert: Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of DeKalb, McHenry counties
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of DeKalb and McHenry counties, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning includes northern DeKalb County and western McHenry County, and will remain in effect until 11:45 p.m. A storm line is located from an area near Roscoe to near Davis Junction, moving to the east at 45 miles per hour, according to officials. Wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour are possible with the storms, which have already produced gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour in Winnebago County, according to trained weather spotters.There is at least a small chance of severe weather associated with that line of storms,
