Guzman missed the entire 2021 season due to an elbow injury and according to MLB Trade Rumors, the hard-throwing righty underwent Tommy John surgery in September. Guzman’s agency congratulated the pitcher on Instagram for signing a two-year minor league deal with the Giants, which indicates he’ll likely spend most of 2022 rehabbing while preparing to pitch competitively in 2023.
