Sheldon gets his first group of nerdy friends on Young Sheldon. The Pasadena gang accepted and tolerated the socially inept genius's antics on The Big Bang Theory despite his odd tendencies. But as it turns out, they may not be Sheldon's first group of friends who also enjoyed the same geeky stuff as he did.
Young Sheldon premiered in 2017 and at the start of the series, Sheldon was just nine years old. Since then, the child prodigy has graduated high school and after a brief conflict with his mother, Mary , he was finally allowed to go to college on one condition: he chooses a school nearby. So instead of going to an Ivy League institution, Sheldon was forced to attend East Texas Tech. For the most part, things have been going well for him after he found a new mentor to follow in Dr.
It's also possible that before the end of the upcoming Young Sheldon episode, Sheldon may no longer be friends with his dorm neighbors. Perhaps there's a falling out between them, which isn't out of the realm of possibility considering Sheldon's strong opinions. Otherwise, the other kids could just stop hanging out with him because Sheldon's significantly younger than they are. That would explain why he never talked about them on The Big Bang Theory.
