It's a major change from the position Sandberg once held at Facebook and beyond. Or she could have been the Vice President alongside Michael Bloomberg, had his candidacy gone further, a person working on that campaign said.
One senior ad industry source said Sandberg lost the faith of Madison Avenue, citing an advertising boycott of Facebook in 2020 and the platform allowing the liveof a mass shooting in New Zealand. This person, who is close to Sandberg, also told Insider that she had lately handed off Facebook's ad business to Marne Levine.
