Officials say the shooting at Tha Blu Flame hookah lounge didn't appear to have deliberately targeted anyone, but rather stemmed from a conflict.
One Week After Fatal Church Shooting, Orange County Taiwanese American Community Stands ‘United Against Hate’"Based on the preliminary investigation, it does not appear that the victims were intentionally targeted and that this may have stemmed from a conflict in a crowded room," according to a statement released by Sgt. Equino Thomas on Saturday.
According the Sunday update, investigators determined the confrontation began at what they called an"unpermitted special event ... between at least two subjects inside the event, and multiple gunshots were exchanged." Two people were taken into custody at the scene, one on possession of a stolen firearm and the other on outstanding warrants.“The San Bernardino Police Department will be working to not only identify and arrest the suspects, but to shut down the business whose illegal activities led to the shooting,” Police Chief David Green said in the statement.
