Schools in the US harden security in response to viral TikTok posts consisting of shooting and bomb threats at schools across the country
The anonymous posts circulating online warned that multiple schools would receive shooting and bomb threats.
“We are writing to inform you and not alarm you,” Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois, school administrators said in an email to parents. At least a few districts announced plans to close school buildings on Friday, including Gilroy High School in northern California. In September, students across the US posted videos of themselves vandalising school bathrooms and stealing soap dispensers as part of the “devious licks” challenge.
