Shooting closes down northbound I-805 near Imperial Avenue [Breaking]
All lanes of northbound Interstate 805 in the Lincoln Park area were closed early Monday after a shooting involving a California Highway Patrol officer occurred on the freeway, authorities said.
The shooting was reported shortly after 7:45 a.m. south of Imperial Avenue., said CHP Officer Mark Latulippe. A suspect is in custody, he said.He said he did not know if anyone was injured in the shooting. San Diego Police Department Lt. Adam Sharki told Fox 5 San Diego that there was an officer-involved shooting involving a CHP officer. He told the station that he had no other details to release.
Officers were helping to take vehicles off the freeway. “It’s going to be a mess for some period of time,” Sharki said. Latulippe said the freeway was expected to be closed for several hours as an investigation was conducted.
