We saw some sunshine in our area Monday, allowing some to see the partial solar eclipse during the afternoon. However, cloud-cover increased during the day. Rain arrived during the afternoon. Showers continue Monday evening through Tuesday. Otherwise, the sky remains cloudy. Temperatures remain mild Monday night, with lows near 60°. Tuesday’s high temperatures range from the 70s to near 80°.
Rain and storms look likely Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Rain could be heavy, with area rain totals of two to four inches. Strong to severe storms appear possible, especially in southwest Alabama. Damaging wind gusts, and perhaps a couple tornadoes are the primary hazards. We will have a better idea of severe risks and timing as Wednesday draws closer. Check back for updates to our forecast.
Clouds and some showers linger Thursday as Wednesday’s storm system begins to depart. Sunshine returns Friday. It may be a breezy and slightly cooler day. Sunshine with some fair-weather clouds may continue through next weekend. Temperatures warm into the upper 70s Saturday, and low 80s Sunday. The start of next week looks mainly dry at this time, with highs in the low 80s Monday and Tuesday.
