After 'Sing' was released in 2016, more people streamed Taron Egerton’s version of 'I’m Still Standing' than the Elton John original. 'Sing 2' aims to do the same for U2 and Prince.
“Sing 2” has the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and other Hollywood A-listers. The even bigger stars of the animated movie are music copyrights.
There are more than 40 familiar pop tunes in the sequel about a troupe of singing animals mounting a Las Vegas show. The opening number is a rendition of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” that features full cast vocals and escalates to a wild finish three minutes later. The filmmakers want the cover to introduce Prince to children in the audience—and immediately hook their parents.
