SMU adds to its holdings with expressway building buy

Southern Methodist University is adding to its property holdings along North Central Expressway.

The university has bought several blocks on the east side of the highway, across from its main campus. The latest purchase is an office building at 6300 North Central. The two-story office building and adjoining garage were built in 1959 and since 2000 have been owned by Manhattan Construction Co.The building the university just purchased is at the corner of North Central and Dyer Street and has about 17,000 square feet. Jones Lang LaSalle had marketed the property.

It’s in a neighborhood seeing redevelopment. The area is adjacent to DART’s commuter rail line, just east of SMU.
