Senior Harley Carmona had eight strikeouts and provided two run-scoring doubles to lead New Braunfels Canyon to a 10-0 playoff win against Alamo Heights.

Canyon remained one of two teams among the state’s Class 5A teams with perfect records. The Cougarettes next play Liberty Hill , which completed a sweep against Edison on Friday, in a regional quarterfinal. The Cougarettes notched their sixth win against the Mules in as many games over the last three seasons. Their previous five meetings produced lopsided results as Canyon held a combined 73-2 scoring advantage.
