It breaks the monotony of loss after loss after loss.
Relatively speaking, compared to other NFL teams, there are few who outside of Houston who care which quarterback the Texans start this week. Or care about the Texans at all. So, the team kept him around longer than it should have and muddled through the 2006 season suffering through one of those wrong ways to lose.
