Younger children began to get vaccinated against Covid-19 Wednesday, adding to the nation’s defenses against a pandemic that has upended learning and life for kids across three school years

Pfizer has said results from a study on the vaccinesSome parents who have guided young children through nearly two years of social distancing and remote learning said getting appointments to get them vaccinated. Lynn Ortman, a 45-year-old management consultant in Atlanta, signed up her 11-year-old for a shot this weekend through her gynecologist’s office.

Carolyn Ross, 39, of Elmhurst, Ill. said signing her 6-year-old twin boys up for shots at pharmacies near her house was much easier than when she did so for herself early this year. She said that while her sons were a little scared of the needles they would encounter, they understood that getting vaccinated would soon allow them to spend more time with family members and their classmates.
