Maurice Henry, 50, is charged with aggravated murder in the killing of Essie Mae Henry, South Euclid police said in a news release. Police arrested him Thursday morning.

A man is charged in the beating death of his 91-year-old mother last year in South Euclid, police said. SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- A man is charged in the beating death of his 91-year-old mother last year in South Euclid, police said.

Essie May Henry was found dead Nov. 4 in the bushes near the intersection of Warrensville Center and Colony roads, police said. She died from blunt force injuries, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said. “Essie was a long-time resident of South Euclid and was known to many in the neighborhood from her frequent walks,” the release says.

South Euclid Municipal Court records do not say when Maurice Henry will make his first court appearance.Read more crime stories on cleveland.com:
