When William died last March, the Bexar County Commissioners Court formally adjourned its meeting in his memory. Addie died in 2017, and many customers flocked to the store to pay their respects. With William’s cooking and Addie’s baking, the husband-and-wife team opened Mr. & Mrs. G’s in 1991. The restaurant quickly became a neighborhood staple, with regulars from nearby churches, workplaces and the former Air Force base nearby.
