South Shore event center celebrates Father’s Day with free beard trims over weekend to raise money for nonprofit that mentors youth

A South Shore event center is celebrating Father’s Day by hosting a free beard trim in hopes of raising $20,000 for the nonprofit No Matter What. The fundraising event is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Quarry Event Center, 2423 E. 75th St. For every beard trimmed, WAHL Clipper Corporation will donate $100 to No Matter What, a nonprofit that mentors youth. The goal is to have 200 men participate Saturday.Men citywide are invited to come out to trim their beards this Fathers Day weekend. There also will be free trims available Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

Real Men Charities Inc will host the 34th Real Men Cook event from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the center. The event is a chance for community members and families to celebrate Fathers Day together.
