Spider-Man 3 was the messy conclusion to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, and it made a big reveal about Uncle Ben’s death that involved Flint Marko a.k.a. Sandman , but this twist doesn’t make sense. After introducing Toby Maguire as Peter Parker in Spider-Man and seeing him go through an existential crisis while fighting Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3 arrived to pit Spider-Man against three villains: Eddie Brock/Venom , Harry Osborn/New Goblin , and Sandman.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Although Eddie and Harry had personal reasons to go after Spider-Man, Sandman’s case was different, as it was Peter who had a personal issue with him. Marko was a small-time thug who stole money to get treatment for his sick daughter, but this obviously led to him getting involved in many problems.
Stacy explained to Peter and aunt May that Marko confessed to his cellmate and they have witnesses that could corroborate the story, yet he waited until Marko escaped to tell them the truth about Uncle Ben’s death. Peter understandably yelled at Captain Stacy about them knowing all this for two years and never telling them, with Stacy simply telling Peter to calm down.
What Happened To Sandman After Spider-Man 3? Sandman had his chance to explain to Peter what happened the night Uncle Ben was killed, explaining that even though he was the one who pulled the trigger, it was an accident as he was distracted by his accomplice’s arrival. Peter forgave Marko and let him escape, leaving his fate unknown… until Spider-Man: No Way Home happened.
