Officials from Chester County Prison shared photos of improvements that were made to areas where two inmates, including Danelo Cavalcante, managed to escape.
One photo shared Monday shows new metal mesh blocking the area where Cavalcante managed to escape onto the roof. Other photos show bushels of razor wire.
Holland said an additional guard will monitor the area where Cavalcante and Bolte escaped. A drone operation will be used for additional surveillance, Holland added. Authorities said Cavalcante eluded law enforcement agents by only moving at night, and surveyed police search perimeters to know when it was safe to escape. He hid underneath thick underbrush and search parties unsuspectingly came within 7 yards of him on three occasions, according to officials.While on the run, authorities say Cavalcante used stream water and a stolen watermelon for nourishment.
