The Spurs’ second-year guard faces an important summer as he aims to live up to billing as a former lottery pick.

“I think always for guys in their second year, summer league is a bigger deal,” Spurs Summer League coach Mitch Johnson said. “It’s always exciting for the rookies, but the second-year guys, they know what to expect. They have been through everything, and I think we look at them as vets.” In Friday’s curtain raiser in Vegas, Primo split ballhandling duties with Wesley and undrafted rookie Jordan Hall.
Like many a Spurs rookie before him, Primo began his inaugural professional season toiling in the G League.
