Stocks climbed at midsession, with the Dow rising about 1,000 points and the S&P up about 3%, ahead of an expected Senate vote on the stimulus bill
U.S. stocks soared in frenetic trading Wednesday, wiping out earlier losses, after lawmakers and the White House reached an agreement on a $2 trillion stimulus package.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 1,010 points, or 5%, to 21715. The S&P 500 was up 3.3% and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.7%.
