Fear the Walking Dead brought back a familiar face in season 8, episode 7, and with him came several hidden references to Madison and Alicia.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Though he goes by the name Anton now, Victor Strand has finally returned to Fear the Walking Dead, and he brings with him some major references to Madison and her family. While these references are fairly subtle, they remind the audience, even subconsciously, of the events and relationships that have brought the current characters to where they are now.
The reference to Alice and Nick has everything to do with the birds. In Fear the Walking Dead, Madison once revealed that before the apocalypse, Alicia and Nick rescued a bird and called in Amina. Allegedly, it taught the children that nobody should ever be left behind, even if they are struggling. This came to be an important strategy and belief once the apocalypse hit. Strand's new care for the birds at the Emissary Suites is a direct reference to Amina.
