Eddie Munson's Stranger Things death claimed an easy victory. Though there were quite a few other strong contenders from other titles, Eddie's name was mentioned in a landslide 72 comments on the post, beating out the second-place options by a factor of about 50.
Although it split the votes between two characters, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also claimed a significant amount of audience attention. Fans continue to lament the tragic passing of actor Chadwick Boseman, whose character T'Challa died offscreen in the opening sequence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, but they were also overwhelmingly distraught by the on-camera drowning death of his mother Queen Ramonda during Namor's assault of Wakanda.
Other prominent deaths that gave competition to Eddie Munson's Stranger Things demise included Aunt May in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Dewey Riley in 2022's Scream sequel. As usual in this kind of poll, fans had a few tricks up their sleeves as well. 14 separate comments lamented the DC Universe ignoring the promise of Black Adam's mid-credits scene and discarding Man of Steel's Henry Cavill as Superman as a death in its own right.
