Finn Wolfhard accidentally guessed what the Stranger Things spinoff will be about. '[The Duffers] pulled me off and they were like, ‘That is the idea. Who told you?’ I was like, ‘No one.’ And they were like, ‘What do you mean, you just came up with it?’'
Finn Wolfhard recently detailed the time he pitched an idea for a Stranger Things spinoff to the show's creators, the Duffer brothers, only to realize that they were secretly working on the very idea that he came up with. With Stranger Things season 5 marking the show's conclusion, the immensely popular sci-fi horror series is perhaps Netflix's most successful original production.
Wolfhard recalled casually pitching a spinoff idea during production on Stranger Things season 4, to which the Duffer brothers were understandably spooked, thinking their secret plans for a spinoff had somehow leaked. Here is Wolfhard's full quote, which has been edited for clarity:
