Developing: Police are searching for a subway stabbing suspect on the Upper West Side. They say it happened on a northbound 2 train, and the suspect fled onto a 1 train.
It happened around 11 p.m. on a northbound 2 train on the Upper West Side.
The 26-year-old victim's friend then pepper sprayed his attacker, who ran away once the train reached the 72nd Street station. "It doesn't matter what train ride you're on, where you're trying to go, this is just becoming a constant thing for everybody," one man said. "I'm hopeful, given the history of the NYPD in these cases, that they'll be able to catch and apprehend him quickly," said Jack Niereenberg.
