Temperatures for the high desert will be in the upper 90s to 106 degrees for Apple and Lucerne Valley — in Coachella Valley expect a high of 111 today. Highs for the San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valleys including Orange County inland areas will be mostly in the upper 80s. For the Inland Empire, highs will be in the upper 80s, up to 96 degrees.Tonight's lows will drop to the mid 60s, low 70s for the deserts.

Looking ahead, forecasters say there will be some warming this weekend but no heat wave for the valley and coasts. The deserts however will be placed under an excessive heat watch come Sunday through Monday morning where in Coachella Valley, daytime highs could reach up to 116 degrees.Start your weekend off with the soulful serenades of jazz singer Sharon Marie Cline as she performs at local favorite Friday night summer hang, Jazz at LACMA.
