Suns, Monty Williams Agree To Long-Term Contract Extension - RealGM Wiretap
The Phoenix Suns and head coach Monty Williams have agreed to a long-term contract extension. Williams had two years left on the five-year deal he signed with the Suns in 2019.
In three years, Williams has gone 149-78 for Phoenix. That includes leading the Suns to the 2021 NBA Finals. Williams also led Phoenix to the best record in the NBA last season with a franchise-record 64 wins. The Suns have improved their regular season record each of the last two years under Williams.
Prior to joining Phoenix, Williams had coached the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans for five seasons. He went 173-221, with two playoff appearances for New Orleans.
