PHOENIX—Mayor Kate Gallego woke up on Thursday to the news that many of her constituents considered the most important development of her tenure: the Phoenix Suns had traded for superstar Kevin Durant.
“My most popular tweet of my entire political career was the one welcoming Kevin Durant,” the Phoenix mayor says. Gallego even noted the tweet’s popularity even outpaced an announcement about a $40 billion deal to build iPhone chips in the city. “That did not do as well as Kevin Durant.”
