'Superstar' Billy Graham, who wrestled in Houston in the 1970s, dead at 79

'Superstar' Billy Graham wrestled under famed promoter Paul Boesch in the 1970s, but was best known for his time in the WWF.

Although Coleman's known best for his years with what was then the WWF, he had a couple different stints in Houston, wrestlingHouston Chronicle

As a teenager, Coleman preached at Christian revivals, thus adopting the name Billy Graham after the televangelist once he got into the wrestling business in 1970. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Coleman was a ground-breaking figure as one of the first professional wrestlers with a bodybuilding physique. He called his biceps his"22-inch pythons" and referred to people as"brother," language that later was adopted by Hulk Hogan at the height of his popularity in the 1980s.
