Swedish-Thai model Lovisa Lager on her values and her style
There’s a changing of the guard in fashion and culture. Gen Z creators are pushing the conversation forward in ways both awe-inspiring and audacious. Our latest project,
Self expression and creativity, rather than money, motivates Lager, who credits her parents with fostering her artistic side. “I usually say that we grew up broke, but my parents gave me the richest life possible when it comes to culture,” she explains. “[They] have always pushed us to be greater than we think when it comes to [our creativity].
There’s definitely a difference between being [in Stockholm] and being in New York where it’s more like a competition than a community—[though] I’ve been very lucky to find creative people in New York that really push themselves and others. It’s not always a competition, but you can notice it sometimes how people wish it was them. Creativity and art is not supposed to push us away from each other, it is really supposed to bring us all together.
