St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church, which is located in the 5300 block of 11th Street, posted about the burglary on itsKaty police said the incident was reported to them on Monday, May 9, after church officials said the tabernacle, which is a small lockbox that sits at the church’s altar, was taken sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Katy police said the investigation into the theft is ongoing and the department is following up on all leads and currently searching through surveillance video and witnesses.Katy Police Department is also communicating with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and asking the Katy community to call 281-391-4848 with any information that might assist investigators in this case.
