"Here's a day in my life as a Texan," Hollyday, from Houston, says at the start of the video, getting out of bed already in his cowboy boots."I start my day right by gargling with a shot of warm Lone Star beer."
Hollyday takes a swig out of a shot glass shaped like a cowboy boot before pledging allegiance to four iconic Texas businesses — Whataburger, H-E-B, Buc-ee's and Blue Bell. After getting changed, Hollyday makes himself a glass of sweet tea, joking that it's No. 18 for the day, and adds seven spoons of sugar to the glass.
"By the end of the day, I will have consumed the Texas standard of 12 gallons of sweet tea," Hollyday says. Hollyday then spends four hours practicing his"yee-haws" in his backyard before returning to his front window to"take a few minutes remembering the Alamo." He finishes the day by jacking up his pickup truck a few inches, a daily task, and then making sure the stars in the sky are"big and bright."
"As a Texan, the amount of pride radiating knows no bounds," TikTok user queentatertot commented on the post.Some argued that as the video ends with the beginning of the state anthem, Hollyday shouldn't have left the song unfinished or not done the claps that follow"big and bright" in the song.
