Consumers and artists continue pushing back against NFTs. Will companies listen?
The backlash ended up doing the trick, as Team17 announced today that it will end its MetaWorms NFT project. Despite the public outcry against NFTs, many companies continue to push forward with them. Ubisoft claims that “gamers don’t get what a digital secondary market can bring to them,” and is moving . Team17 tried to lessen the environmental concern by calling its MetaWorm NFTs “environmentally friendly,” which obviously did not have the company’s desired outcome.
