A student was arrested at a high school in California's Silicon Valley on Thursday for bringing a loaded gun on campus, officials said.

The Atherton Police Department said it received a call from staff at Menlo-Atherton High Schools at about 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 10 saying they had gotten an anonymous tip that a student had a gun. Information to identify the student was provided and staff held the student in the office when the teen arrived at school.
