A teenager was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a 39-year-old man was fatally shot in Dallas’ Red Bird neighborhood.

Officers responded about 5:15 a.m. to the 7800 block of Texridge Drive, near East Kirnwood Drive and Interstate 35E, and found Rigoberto Meza with a gunshot wound, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified a juvenile suspect and took them into custody on a murder charge. Their name was not released because of their age, and police did not release any information about them other than calling them a teenager.

No other details, including what led up to the shooting, were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
