A 3rd District judge sentenced a 17-year-old to at least 15 years in prison after a jury found he was guilty of murder. In 2021, the teenager fired a gun multiple times at a man driving a truck, ultimately killing the man.

The man's father, Fernando Amaya, said his life has changed that day. Now, he just works and comes home; "it's not life," he said. "This guy didn't care. He don't think. Because he has a gun, he can do whatever he wants. No. It's not right, it's not right," Amaya said.
