Will Grant, who grew up in Littleton, will be at the Tattered Cover to talk about his journey following the route of the Pony Express and the book that resulted. “It was the greatest display of American horsemanship to ever color the pages of a history book,” he says of the Pony Express. “It ran for slightly more than eighteen months, from April 3, 1860, to October 26, 1861. Its brevity is best explained by the fact that it was prohibitively expensive to operate.
