Nashville’s City Council voted Wednesday to approve $760 million in revenue bonds for a new $2.1 billion stadium for the Tennessee Titans
Under the agreement, Nashville’s Metro Sports Authority will issue $760 million in revenue bonds that must be repaid through a series of taxes, including on ticket sales and in-stadium sales, as well as rent paid by the team .the agreement a “huge win for Nashville taxpayers,” saying it eliminates a “billion-dollar liability” from the aging stadium lease .—near the site of the current stadium in Nashville’s East Bank—is set to begin next year, to be ready for the 2027 NFL season.
The Tennessee Titans, which moved to Nashville in 1997 after nearly four decades as the Houston Oilers, have not made it to the Super Bowl since their 2000 loss to the St. Louis Rams.
