Terry Francona appears to be experiencing health issues again.

Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona is undergoing further medical testing at a hospital after feeling ill before Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

Bench coach DeMarlo Hale took over the managing duties and said he found out about Francona’s health right before the game.. “He gave me a shout. He said, ‘Get in here. I’m not feeling too well. I’m gonna take off.’ I said, ‘OK.’ And it was so close [to game time that] I didn’t get to ask him what’s going on. He told me to touch base with him after the game. No update yet.

Throughout his 26-year managerial career, Francona has had both hips and knees replaced and has also suffered from blood clots.Francona, who is now in his 11th season with Cleveland, led the Guardians to a 92-70 record last season, leading the team to the American League Central division title. Before his stint in Cleveland, Francona managed the Red Sox for eight seasons, winning two World Series rings and breaking the 86-year Curse of the Bambino in the process when Boston won the title in 2004.
