AUSTIN – Hours after a massacre at a Uvalde elementary school, Texas Gov.
Miner did not answer questions about why Abbott, who’s up for reelection this year, went ahead with the East Texas event or how he managed the state’s response to the shooting while attending the closed-door affair. The fundraiser was first reported by Texas politics news site Jeff Bradley of Huntsville confirmed hosting the fundraiser for Abbott, but offered no further details. It’s not clear who was in attendance or how long the event lasted.
