The Texas Rangers stand for the national anthem before a game against the Houston Astros at Globe Life Field, Sunday, April 7, 2024, in Arlington., the Rangers have listened to unhappy fans and reversed course on an attempt at a twist in their in-stadium entertainment program.
After home wins, the club will once again play the original version of Pat Green’s “I Like Texas” that had become a staple over the last 25 years. The new mix, a collaboration with Dallas-based songwriter, producer and rapper Bobby Sessions, however, isn’t disappearing. It will be used in other elements during games, Rangers spokesman John Blake said. Green had approached the Rangers about using the remix in some capacity.
