BREAKING UPDATE: Uvalde school shooting leaves 18 children, 2 adults dead

Thirteen children were taken by ambulance or bus to Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, which is about 85 miles west of San Antonio, officials with the hospital said. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott spoke at a news conference on Tuesday confirming 14 students and one teacher from Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, have been killed. The shooter has also died and was believed to have been killed by responding officers."Texans across the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless crime and for the community of Uvalde," Abott later added in a written statement.
