– A new beginning for Texas State ’s football team as Head Coach G.J. Kinne enters his second season in charge of the Bobcats program after winning a bowl game for the first time in school history.The Bobcats’ new quarterback, Jordan McCloud, who transferred to Texas State after being named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year last season while at James Madison University, had a rough start to the scrimmage portion of the spring game.
Coach Kinne enjoyed seeing how his quarterbacks were challenged by the starting defense early in the scrimmage and shared how he thought they responded to that adversity. “Obviously it’s a game but throughout spring this is the time to learn to get better with your teammates,” said McCloud.
