Northeast Arkansas News spoke to Dr. Cindy White of Harding University about some of the facts of the total solar eclipse rolling into town on April 8.

“A solar eclipse happens when the moon comes between the sun and the Earth, and it casts a shadow, because the moon blocks the face of the sun and its casting a shadow," Dr. Cindy White of Harding University said.

The most recent total solar eclipse in the country was 2017. “The United States here, we’re having two that’s pretty close together, in that we had one in 2017 that went a crossed longways across the United States,” Dr. White said.
