Phyla-Vell's comic book backstory could be help the new Guardians of the Galaxy cross over with Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan.
One of the members of the new team introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is closely connected to Captain Marvel in the comics. Marvel's cosmic side is filled with powerful characters of all shapes and sizes. Many of them have already appeared or been teased in live-action while others are yet to debut on the MCU.
Phyla-Vell's comic book origin story is quite different from the one she has in the MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 reveals that the MCU's version of Phyla was a test subject in the High Evolutionary's last experiments, which aimed to create the perfect species. Phyla didn't meet the High Evolutionary's standards, but she did receive the ability to remain at full power without the need for rest, sleep, or food. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
