The 'smoked marshmallow' hair color trend might convince you to go blonde:
"It’s a lived-in color look with a heavy dark root melting into the sweet cool blonde tones at the mid-length and ends," she says. "Because of the intentionally brown root, this is a great option for those who prefer a low-maintenance balayage trend or whose hair might be damaged from previous color jobs."
She also adds that if you already have a few months of outgrowth from the root, you can choose this color and ask for balayage or foilage to bring brightness back around your face.
