first identified a potential issue on December 10, 2022, and then conducted an investigation with the supplier to identify the cause. It was soon determined that a recall would need to be issued. As of February 23, 2023, Tesla was aware of 5 warranty claims that it received between December 9, 2022, and February 14, 2023, that may be related to the issue. The company is not aware of any injuries or deaths.
Tesla notified all its stores and service centers of the recall around February 28 and will notify owners from April 25. Owners will be asked to take their vehicle to a Tesla service center where the bolts will be inspected and, if necessary, retorqued to specifications.
