Firefighters were working to extinguish a three-alarm fire at an Oakland hills home that caused at least minor damage to three other homes Thursday, authorities said.
Shortly after 4:25 p.m., Oakland Fire Department dispatchers received word of the blaze at a home in the 6800 block of Aitken Drive, a residential area between Shepherd Canyon Road and Skyline Boulevard.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke rising from a blaze coming from a home’s garage, and called second and third alarms in part due to a downed power line and density of nearby homes at risk. A PG&E crew was summoned to handle the downed line and to shut off gas at the property. There were no immediate reports of injuries or a cause of the fire.— Oakland Fire Department
