TikTok is taking steps to compete with Amazon by expanding its e-commerce efforts and creating a supply chain to sell products.
The Chinese-affiliated social media platform has begun taking steps to construct fulfillment centers to deliver products ordered on its platforms, according to job listings found by Axios. The news comes after TikTok began developing live shopping features on its app in an attempt to expand into the commerce industry, as it did in China.
The center is"a global team responsible for developing and growing our logistics solution," the listings say. While the team appears to be starting in Seattle, there are intentions to construct a global logistics and warehousing network, according to other job listings.
